Lots of variables are on the table.
AA/Airways are having no trouble hiring. Management wants to ensure the regionals are in the same position. If they make the only route to AA is through their own regional then can control the movement. So lets assume all pilots are given a seniority number. They have one big list, then all new hires will have to come from the wholly ownes, If you want to work for AA then you have to start from either Envoy/PDT or PSA. Gone are the off the street hiring. If a single list is created then look for 7-10 year seat locks. And i take offense to a mainline pilot not allowing a regional pilot ahead of seniority. We are already flying mainline size airplanes. Many of us were passed over and f/o's were hired out of seniority. Parker is aware of this and is thinking outside the box to solve his biggest problem of this decade. The regional pilot shortage.
So the Envoy offer is going to be a clearer path to mainline/larger airplanes in exchange for the 4/12 pay freeze. And this my friends will be a take it or leave it offer.
