Yhave to admit there is some irony in the fact that the Union guy from Southern signed this letter of commitment after last year when they totally undercut everyone with regional wages to fly 737s.
Then you have Kallita union guys on here saying "let's all stick together and it will all work out. Yea. But for who? It's my understanding that Kallita company can impose a pay rate without a union vote. So the Union can say "we won't undercut anyone." Then the company can undercut. The Union can then say "sorry we got your work. we tried to have your back."
Then the 1224 is going to start a media campaign accusing DHL of unfair labor practices. Do you think DHL will figure out what started that?
That letter of commitment has a floor that has not been stated. I'm pretty sure it will be consideralby lower than the current ABX compensation package.
ABX pilot group can say "we won't budge" but I think there is a very real possibility that will reault in a substantial loss of business with at least 17 plane going out to the lowest bidder in the coming months.
