Let's take the 320 EWR Captain. He's been locked out of the 756 and 76T for over 3 years. He'd like to bid the 756 because it includes the 767-400 that pays the same as the 747/777/787 but can't because ALPA and the company decided his seniority doesn't count. If they can take seniority away from one they can/will take it away from others. I didn't say they were upgrading out of seniority YET - give them time and the right arbitrator see what happens. BAT violates seniority and when you do it once why not do it all the time?
It would be interesting to see what we(ALPA) got from the company for BAT. Was it one of those PW back-room deals? And you can't assume that the people on the 737 and 320 are junior to the 76T or 756 because many on both airplanes can hold 747/777/787 but hey, you got yours. Carry on..........
320 EWR Captains have been locked out ??? Are you smoking crack? There have been 40- 756 CAP awards and 102- 756/76T FO awards since MAY!!! Go look at vacancies 14-08, 14-10, and 14-11. It's like I said, if there are net gains, there are vacancies for ALL to bid. And many outside of the 756/76T fleets have bid them (including EWR 320 CAPs). As for me, I've already said I have NOT taken a BAT, but could have. It's not about me. I just get it, meaning I understand it, and I have no problem with it.
