Does anyone know if the majors, in particular United, still conduct their own flight physical exams as part of the hiring process? My reason being, I took ADD meds as a child. I have spent thousands of dollars to see a psychiatrist and have testing to prove that I don't have ADD. Because of this, I have a clean (no restrictions) Class 1 Medical. Although I meet and exceed the FAA qualifications, I fear that an airline medical would be more stringent and disqualify me based on a "history of taking" the meds for insurance purposes. If they don't conduct their own medicals anymore, I don't think I'd have anything to worry about. Could anybody shed some light on this subject?
