Default Company Physicals

Does anyone know if the majors, in particular United, still conduct their own flight physical exams as part of the hiring process? My reason being, I took ADD meds as a child. I have spent thousands of dollars to see a psychiatrist and have testing to prove that I don't have ADD. Because of this, I have a clean (no restrictions) Class 1 Medical. Although I meet and exceed the FAA qualifications, I fear that an airline medical would be more stringent and disqualify me based on a "history of taking" the meds for insurance purposes. If they don't conduct their own medicals anymore, I don't think I'd have anything to worry about. Could anybody shed some light on this subject?

Thanks,
Rob

United does not. I'm not even sure if AMR and DAL do anymore either. I'm not familiar with how much of that you are supposed to disclose on your FAA Medical Application, but that's a different can of worms anyway.

But, no, United does not. You just have to pass a standard-issue drug screen.

Alright, sounds good! I've disclosed everything with the FAA. It took thousands of hours and countless tests, but I finally got a clean medical.

Thanks,
Rob
