Virtually EVERY jet manufacturer had their best year, and I believe that 2005 was their 2nd best year.

Jet Blue, Southwest, Delta, Net Jets, Emirates, Cathay Pacific, the Japanese carriers, ALL the Indian and Chinese carriers:
They're all experiencing less than optimal recruiting situations. Now. Today.
With UAL and NWA to hire soon, with UPS, USAir, FedEx, and AA behind them, what is going to happen when EVERYONE is hiring, and all these new jets are coming on line???
Who is going to fly all these new planes? We can't even fly the ones we have now.

In time anyone who wants a flying job will have one. Employers will keep lowering the minimums and pay. The biggest reason that there is a bright future on the hiring front is that no one will want the jobs anymore.
