Senior V.P. of Flight Operations on August 15th says: "Based on revised training plans and forecasts from Manpower Planning, we currently expect a need for almost 1,300 new hire/leave return/furlough recall pilots through April 2016. This is being driven by age-65 retirements, as well as aircraft block hour increases on several of our fleet types. This revised and very robust training plan will deplete our new hire pool by the end of September, so we will resume new hire interviews next week and will continue interviews indefinitely."
