Hey, I'd love this too, but here is the problem with the regionals. By whittling it down to a few "specialists" (their word) they cut down on training cycles, a major cost. No more left-seat-to-other-left-seat moves, for example. Plus being able to whipsaw, huge bonus, as is a hydra flow thru octopus designed to keep pilots at the regionals longer. Mainline merge, sure, they are doing it. Merge a few regionals and create specialists? Already their stated plan.
