To my way of thinking, it's closer to a rounding error than an additional cost. Yet apparently they would rather remain stingy and blame congress for the pilot shortage that they, themselves, have created.
Where is the shortage? which regional can't staff their flying because of this "pilot shortage", maybe Great Mistakes? And it's not like big poppy Delta is hurting for pilots while they are getting rid of the 50 seaters. That's the bottom line, not the regionals. And if you think they won't survive without the feeders, you might want to talk to a Comair or Envoy pilot.
