I'm 42 and very senior.

Many of my friends say they are content and that they will be a "lifer" at the regional level. For many folks and their situations, that is a good move. I get it.
But if you are like me and you want the security and the challenge of something different, you have to be willing to step out of your comfort zone and do the things that the other pilots will not do:
1- Fill out your logbook.
2- Get interview prep before you get the interview. Trust me on this (you improve your flight skills, improve your communication skills).
3- Do a sim prep.
4- Go to a job fair.
5- Network with friends (at work, FB and here on APC).

I think attitude is key. Stay positive, uplifting, and hopeful. Avoid being negative and ticked off at the past 10-13 year career pause. We can't do anything about the past, anyway. We can be hopeful and encouraged that our time is yet to come. Prepare now and be ready for it!!
Some sage advice for all of us hopefuls. Congratulations on the new gig. You most certainly earned it.
