No offense bro, but I think @FerrisBluer is simply pointing out that, being as you're barely off IOE, if you're already having a "rough day" because you didn't get PHX straight outta training, you have most certainly picked the wrong profession.
And if you're having a bad day for anything--regardless of whether it's for personal or professional reasons--call off sick, get out of your head, and get off of APC for God's sake.
I'm not trying to be a jerk, I'm just saying you seriously need to re-evaluate your chosen profession, and your personal capability to deal with unmet expectations if you ever hope to survive in this industry. Additionally, if you plan on being a Captain one day, you really need to develop a thicker skin than you're expressing right now. #realtalk
People wait years--and in some cases decades--for specific bases. Talk to anyone who has been through an economic downturn, a bankruptcy, a furlough, or even just a "legacy XYZ doesn't want you around anymore"--it happens ALL THE TIME. Mesa isn't immune to any of those things at all--I don't care what any of our contracts or recruiters say.
You need to be prepared to be a reserve FO in IAD for as long as it takes, or you need to lower your expectations, or you need to stop obsessing over stuff and go watch Netflix/drink a bottle of your chosen adult beverage, talk to a therapist, etc..
Or go talk to prior121, who will just yell a bunch of expletives at you and tell you to get yourself together and throw the gear down when he says "GEAR DOWN WHY ARE YOU TALKING BRO?"
