Because we did not quit our regional jobs when mainline relaxed scope you compare us to pilots taking pay back fifty years. Im not buying it.

My point, and one which I wish you could see, it that what you see as "standard wages" is substandard to those who came before you in the same way that you see Skybus and VA wages as substandard. My disagreement with your point of view comes from your attitude that you are so much better than those flying for Skybus because you remember what your predecessors did. What your predecessors actually did was watch their flying trickle away to companies like Skywest.

Some could say that Skywest has harmed the profession much more than Skybus and VA. After all, when a passenger gets on Skybus and VA it is because their low fares attract them. When a passenger gets on your aircraft it is because Delta awarded Skywest a route that likely once belonged to a mainline flight.

You say 'dont blame me, blame those who relaxed scope'. Using the same logic you cant blame the pilots who go to Skybus/VA you should blame those who deregulated the industry. You still chose to accept/keep a job paying wages far below the previous standard, thereby further lowering the standard.

Dont get me wrong, I wish the best for you in your career. Skywest is a 'good' regional, just get off your high horse of thinking you are so much better than the folks flying a Skybus A319, because in the grand scheme of things your airline has changed the pilot career much more than theirs has, and you are a part of that change. Go ask one of the mainline guys who used to fly a Skywest CRJ900 route who took pay back 50 years, dont be too surprised if their answer isnt 'Skybus".
