He knew he had used every ounce of goodwill with us and there was no way he would get as good a deal as he did with AA in the time frame that he needed. Still, while I voted "no" on LOA 93 and was indeed fine with burning down the house, I voted "yes" on the MOU. Although I was offended by the way Parker did this, I knew that we needed to merge and I was sick of the situation at US. Plus I saw the hand writing on the wall - it was a done deal anyway. I say this so that you will know that I do not rubber stamp everything that needs a vote. To adopt the attitude that US pilots somehow got what they deserved and now they now are capitulating and holding you back, is self defeating. Parker is an opportunist who has prospered with a pilot group that loathes him. This is the known part of the equation. Everything else about how he will react is just an educated guess.
Hey, if you were a U pilot (East or West), I don't blame you for voting for the merger because you had nowhere to go but up, but before it got to you AA pilots had to green light APA's sloppy wet kiss on Parker.
It's just I'd bet a re-vote today would reverse that course if AA legacy pilots had a chance at a do over.
