For Monthly Reserve bidding you can basically request certain days off, and/or a pattern of schedule like 4on/3off type of thing.
Bidding for AM/PM slots happens the day before your RSV day. The next day assignments are posted each day at noon. I wouldn't count on having a lot of control with the AM/PM bidding. It has been 50/50 in my experience, and I am usually one of the more senior guys bidding RSV.
