Altitude Pads is one option for a crashpad in IAD if you might be there with some degree of regularity but won't be there long enough to justify an apartment. They contract with a few airport hotels and stick bunk beds in hotel rooms, so you get the benefit of clean sheets, hotel shuttle, and continental breakfast. Of course, the other roommates on a given night can make or break it.

$150 for 4 nights a month, $250 for 8 nights, $350 for 16 nights. If you go over your plan, just $25 each additional night. They also do direct withdrawal from your bank account, some people aren't comfortable with that. But they were professional and legitimate in my experience.

Otherwise, the cheapest crew rate for a night in Dulles is around $54 I think. Someone else might be able to elaborate on that.
