How, exactly, does a reservist deploy for 60 days on "his own time?" I assume you have never called in sick, without being sick as well? In that 29 years. You don't have to like it, it's federal law that if a Reservist or Guardsman has official orders, an employer must give them time off and have their job or equivalent available when they return. Don't like it, run for office and change it. And when you're in office, you can fund the Active Duty force so that ANG and AFRES are not so heavily tasked.
I don't think Grenada counts as a combat tour BTW
