I served a tour in a combat zone before you were born. I am ex-military. If you want to stay in the reserves, great, but pull your reserve duty on your time NOT on mine. Things have changed since 1985!
Talk to those guys and see what current AFRC/ANG pilots are doing.
P.S. In case you forgot, we are conducting combat operations still! And have been for over 13 years!
