Isn't that true off all insurance companies? You don't use it until you need it, then hopefully the coverage is there?
Truth is, I actually DO rent a fair number of cars on my USAA CC and if I'm involved in an accident I want to be covered. I'd say I "use" that feature and benefit of the card every time I rent a car. With the upcoming changes, depending on the vehicle I rent, I'll have to consider buying the extra coverage, which is something I've never had to do.
USAA is diluting every aspect of their product line and is quickly becoming just another consumer option. As a 28 year USAA member, I can tell you it hasn't always been that way.
