How are they screwing other pilots? I hear that all time. What are they or ANYONE who is efficient on open time doing to screw anyone. They saw the trips in open time that night and put in for it and got it. I saw it also, but couldn't do it. If you were watching open time, you and everyone else could've got it. They were just faster/better prepared/more diligent, whatever you want to call it.
The company doesn't care WHO flies the trips as long as they are filled. I am 99.9% sure there is no cheating going on. Maybe there was a few years ago, I can't say for certain. The company called guys into the office and there were discussions. That's all I know for sure. Why would you risk a good job over it??
