SKW wasn't fighting hard to keep the DEN contract. They were facing the same issues "Incompetentcty" is facing now (admittedly not nearly as badly).
I'm pretty sure SKW management wasn't loosing sleep over losing DEN. If United thinks they could find somebody to do it cheaper, then Have fun. This is the result.
