Holy crap. The F-16's intercepted a "small plane" near OKC and they landed at Clay County. That's a pretty damned long way. I seriously doubt an F-16 could evey fly that long at the speed of a small airplane. Sounds like AP needs to check their facts.
You don't need to be co-speed to escort/intercept. It could have been a Cub and still have been done.
