If United were to merge, don't you think they'd keep the United brand name! Even if United were be get bought, I think they would keep the United name. Just like with the US Air/America West merger. Too much name recognition. United has been around for over 80 years and they are the world's second largest airline. I don't think the United name is going away, even in the event of a merger.
