Ahead of the United Merger
#1
UAL has advertised the following to it's employees:
United Branded Merchandise and Apparel Dramatically Reduced
United employees can save 50 to 75 percent on merchandise from one of our preferred vendors, The Chamberlain Marketing Group. The inventory includes United, Ted, United Express and Star Alliance merchandise such as pens, golf balls, Polo shirts, t-shirts and jackets.
Large quantities of some items are available, and serve as great departmental kudos or tokens of customer appreciation.
Employees can make personal purchases here, or can place corporate orders using the Easy Order/Ketera System. Sale prices are final markdowns and are available while supplies last.

What a great opportunity to stock up these collectors items!

If United were to merge, don't you think they'd keep the United brand name! Even if United were be get bought, I think they would keep the United name. Just like with the US Air/America West merger. Too much name recognition. United has been around for over 80 years and they are the world's second largest airline. I don't think the United name is going away, even in the event of a merger.

Agreed! Anyone who welcomes a merger should look at the USAIR/AmWest merger and be afraid. 2 of the best pilot groups in the industry, now at each other's throats. That merger might kill USAir. No Mergers without guaranteed protections.
