Then they could get the rest to work at half of what they are making now as they chase that carrot. Log book - Desks fit into an elevator, furnace igniter failures diagnosed and replaced. Build your resume to where your are allowed to put the big desks into the big elevators.

They could create an excitement by talking about how many maintenance people are reaching retirement age and how these high paying jobs will be available to those who have paid their dues and logged so much time.

If the janitors/furniture movers/relief doorman won't work for the 16000 a year they can go to the government and complain about the shortage of qualified people for these jobs. We could get the government to setup training programs for these jobs. They could advertise how these jobs are now paying more than an airline pilot makes because of the severe shortage.
For one, no janitor is going to clean **** out of a toilet for 16,000 a year. Moving furniture is not a long time job due to the physical toll it puts on the body. And if pilots decide not to work for regionals for 16,000 starting pay. And the regionals are no longer viable do to the higher labor cost. They might go away to some extent. Of course, worst outcome is Joe Schmo Wisconsin senator sais he does not have enough flight service out of Green Bay and pushes Cabotage legislature through congress. Then all of us are ****ed.
