Yes, they cancel each other out. It's total cumulative hours flown for that bid. If it's over awarded line guarantee you get paid the extra hours. To make it easy, if you have one leg left on the last trip of the bid. And you're projected to be one hour over block using that last legs scheduled block. Then, you end up blocking in 30 minutes early, now your only paid .5 hours more for the bid instead of the 1.0.
Wow, that really sucks. In my experience with the Usairways flying, most flights are scheduled slightly longer than it usually takes. I usually end up under blocking more than I over block. A 20 hour four day might have 6 hours of under blocking and 2 hours of over blocking. I would credit/paid for 22 hours and my block would be 16. In sounds like at Mesa you just get the 20 hours scheduled in that situation.
