Default Entitlement/millennials

In my class there weren't a whole lot of people who took on a bunch of flight training loans or went to erau-like schools or had mom and dad pay for it. Wide mix of backgrounds, most involved self financing and hard work building time and ratings from what I could tell when everyone was telling their story. Funny thing is I've flown with several 250 hour allATP wonder captains at Mesa, who had it pretty damn easy compared to the guys who need 1500 hrs now. Only difference is those 250 hour wonders from the 90s/early 2000s are still stuck at Mesa, and thus bitter about the "millenials," knowing the newhires of today with a 4 year degree will likely not be at Mesa in 5 years while they've had to wait for a decade or more in the regionals. Oh and half my class was 30 or over, many prior 121/135, and/or have been slaving away building time or in another career for the last 10-25 years. Hardly the stereotypical entitled millenial newhire you speak of.
And the millenials were hard workers who haven't exactly been handed the job at Mesa on a silver platter.

Newhires want fast upgrades? Crazy, that's the only reason people have had to come to mesa other than maybe they live in phx and don't want to commute. Are thy entitled? No, they just want to keep their aviation career going. From my experience the guys who have been stuck at Mesa have worse attitudes about this profession and life in general than the average newhire. A young entitled millenial wants to quit for greener pastures and quicker upgrade bc the music stopped at Mesa? Cool, let him. Give JO a reason to improve things.

I think flaps will only be happy if the average newhire was 24, with debt, and had the attitude that they want to be in the regionals for 10-15 more years, have a 5-7 year upgrade, all because they don't deserve to get to the majors before they are 35 or 40 because its unfair how luck and timing worked out.
