I've been there, I've done that. As in, been through MULTIPLE bases closures in short periods of times. So it's just easier (less crappy) to call ONE PLACE home vs. picking up your crap, or whatever else. Even though there may be a financial burden involved, etc.
Also, LAX may not be the cheapest place to crashpad, it's not like other domiciles (NYE for example) are getting ANY CHEAPER, nor was ORD.
Also, there's enough cheap hotels that are comparable to OTHER places that can be had if it's a 2-3 night a month situation.
If the guy is a 3 year FO, then I would highly suggest a regional hiring CAs with a DEN base.
