How could JFK be a easy commute and LGA suck? It's a 13$ bus ride taking 30 minutes or a cab for 16.50 between the two.

Jumpseats are free. $26-$34 each trip can get pricey.

And by only, you mean them and Skywest/XJT/ASA. Their management is also systematically preventing the merging of groups and some consider Skywest to be the King of regionals to work for. Next time, include facts in your Hater-Aid. It helps win arguments and makes you look less stupid.

To answer your question, the commute is not bad. I've been commuting from DEN to LAX since last March and only three times I've been bumped off the first flight and had to use my backup. The biggest competition you'll have for the jumpseat, is other Compass pilots. I've flown a few trips where both the captain and I are DEN commuters, that's when you just need to find a write up on the plane during the last leg.
