As well as start making ASSumptions.

We just simply DON'T know. Which circles me back around to simply telling the guy based on the info he DID GIVE; It's an easy (less carppy) commute than the OTHER 7 places I commuted to from DEN in my time there.
Hey no judging here. I can see how it could come across that way but I'm just genuinely curious as to the OPs situation and what would warrant a commute to begin with. And honestly I don't really keep up with the current regional events like I used to (got burned out and bored with it) and was wondering if someone was closing their DEN base.

No ASSumptions here Mr. Carr

Fair enough man. But if we're to run with the "take a job at a company that's upgrading quickly/hiring street CA's and will be opening a DEN base" thing, TSA I guess? let's run with it;

Said individual goes there, said individual gets based in DEN, said individual thinks his life/QOL, and career progression) just worked out swimmingly.

Then, the usual UAX reshuffle/puppet master/block hour reallocation/ move the pieces/we say "jump!" and you say "HOW HIGH!" happens, that UAL IS NOTORIOUS FOR. And the DEN base shrinks, downsizes, whatever and said individual goes BACK to commuting, to a crappy company, for a crappy pay rate with Hulas the goat rimmer.

If that doesn't make sense, well, simply read my PREVIOUS post about domicile closures and chasing domiciles that CONTINUOUSLY open/close.

Very true about the UAX domiciles, but at least one could be based at home starting out while on reserve.

Anyway...obviously commuting sucks but it is inevitable at some point. At least the OP has mainline aircraft with good frequency. I commute on a 200 and often times it cannot take a jumpseater due to weight restrictions.

Amazing when the sarcastic/facetious reference made that's been around pressing TWO decades now gets lost on those with ZERO sense of humor.......

Had it been RAH, I would have used "the reverend", had it been Mesa I would have used "JO, OJ, or Johnny O", I believe AE/Envoy used "vote for Pedro". You get the point, wait, obviously not......

My point is there are no good ones. I would take Hulas over JO, DUI Dougie, Bedford or really any of them.

You are seriously in some deep koolaid. Hulas is without a doubt the worst one. Even the other CEOs/management don't hold a candle to horrible pilot to management relations as Hulas does. So much so that TSH is the only regional that still has separate pilot groups working for one company essentially. You might think Tsa is getting better but they're just picking up the scraps of other successful companies.

Wow, didn't expect all the repiles but I am lax based with compass now and have always loved denver. Thought now would be a good time to leave Dtw and make the move out west. Can't afford la and the commute doesn't seem too bad considering all the flights. I've commuted from Dtw to lga which was easy, to JFK which sucked, and Msp is pretty crappy as well. I know the compass has a Dtw base, for now, and I know commutting sucks but it's time to move out of Dtw.
