The increase in total fleet size here at AA is due to the fact that our scope clause was a lot tighter than delta/united, and our trip through BK caused us to "come up" to delta/united fleet size. That's what you are seeing.

If anything, AA pilots held the line on the tightest scope clause in the industry for years. You at United should know this...remember the parking of the 737 fleet and the explosive RJ growth that resulted from that?

Don't forget, we were the last ones to go through BK and we knew they'd come after our scope. They did - now they are catching up to delta and united fleet size, after years of having a much smaller RJ fleet than y'all. Those are the orders you are seeing now. But our current scope clause is almost identical to yours and Delta's today, now that we've exited bk and they took what they took. We didn't give in to anything - it was taken from us in Bk. Prior to that, we had one of the tightest clauses in the industry.

They tried to come after it in this JCBA - we held the line once again. I'd say we did pretty well.
