Great synopsis but the calendar day matters more now than the past cause 117 requires 30 hr break making it benefit the company to build those layovers to award back to back trips.
There is no doubt though that these rates will be much better than old bk rates for others to negotiate with as the industry.

American Airlines Group will grow its regional fleet — operated as American Eagle and US Airways Express — by 28 airplanes as it goes from 566 airplanes at the end of 2014 to 594 at the end of 2015.
That’s a 4.9 percent increase. But the number of seats is expected to grow by 8.6 percent, from 33,201 to 36,040, because the average aircraft size will grow.

The MTA which forced this JCBA at AA sold scope for 7%. The Delta and United Scope clauses were not perfect by any means, but the trend at both airlines was for a significant reduction in both airframes and ASMs. This contract reverses that trend and will undercut any hope pilots had of regaining the edge in the war between contract flying and mainline flying.

For years, our scope clause has been much tighter than delta and united. The regional aircraft orders you see are AA unfortunately "catching up" to delta/united.
However, your are somewhat correct that our scope clause suffered a little during our trip through Bk, and by extension, through the MTA. As I recall, delta and united scope clauses also suffered during bk, and a lot more than us.
In the end, though, our JCBA scope clause was untouched.
So who exactly are you "thanking?" We held the line with this JCBA. Check the delta and united scope clauses, I believe they are almost identical to ours.

You were completely and utterly misinformed. We didn't sell squat. Our scope clause was untouched with the JCBA. They tried, and we fought back. They didn't get a thing from scope.

The DAL and UAL scope clause ties new 76 seaters to a reduction in the regional fleet. The increase in total fleet size at AA shows this is not the case at AA.
Copy and paste the scope clause here for us to compare and I will do the same for the UAL Scope.
The point is DAL and UAL used their merger negotiations to further the cause of "Scope Choke". We can debate the efficacy of that "Scope Choke", but one can not argue over the fact that ALPA tried to reverse the trend. It appears AA did nothing of the sort, but rather left their scope as is, and if you really want to open the scope history conversation I'm all game . . . but you better go look up the history of Eagle.

The increase in total fleet size here at AA is due to the fact that our scope clause was a lot tighter than delta/united, and our trip through BK caused us to "come up" to delta/united fleet size. That's what you are seeing.
If anything, AA pilots held the line on the tightest scope clause in the industry for years. You at United should know this...remember the parking of the 737 fleet and the explosive RJ growth that resulted from that?
Don't forget, we were the last ones to go through BK and we knew they'd come after our scope. They did - now they are catching up to delta and united fleet size, after years of having a much smaller RJ fleet than y'all. Those are the orders you are seeing now. But our current scope clause is almost identical to yours and Delta's today, now that we've exited bk and they took what they took. We didn't give in to anything - it was taken from us in Bk. Prior to that, we had one of the tightest clauses in the industry.
They tried to come after it in this JCBA - we held the line once again. I'd say we did pretty well.
