Default New AA contract passed

747 in a higher pay band than the 777 and 787.

What kind of craziness is that?

Oh don't get me wrong. I wouldn't trade our contract for theirs for anything. Of course their contract only passed because all the LUAL pilots who voted for it.

You thought our SLI was fun to watch....

Is it true there is no min day pay? Like if they have a 30+ hour two night layover, they get no pay for the day they don't fly?

They have a few gems like that apparently, i.e. big holes in the work rules. It appears that there were competing factors as well as a rule that basically said if they voted it down, they had to negotiate a "cost neutral" contract, meaning if they did get an improvement, it would come from some other benefit.

At least that's what I understand from reading through their posts.

And ya the SLI over there is going to be a big fight. It will make us look like the gentlemen we are.

How did they end in that predicament? Was something agreed to? Promises made?

What did the vote look like?

...nevermind I found it..."Passed 66-34, 94 percent voter turnout"
