Looking at the time-frame of comm's, there's an appx 45 second difference from the time that the tower cleared the Avantair to go to the time the cirrus was cleared. I'm guessing the tower would've thought that the Avantair flight would've already been passed the intersection in that amount of time. Looking at the airport diagram that's just my assumption since the two active runways intersect at the shortest ends. Just glad everyone was ok.
