Dallas also has love field with 3-4 flights to PHX on Southwest. And Dulles has a other airports within an hour Reagan and Baltimore with a few flights to PHX.
I'd really advise against the E175 in your situation. Commuting for 1-3 months is insignificant when you can hold Phoenix so quickly. Don't commit yourself to an indefinite commute to IAH when you can be living
in base for the vast majority of your FO career.
So that said, list your base preferences as 1.) PHX 2.) DFW 3.) IAD. You could probably get DFW right away, which would be just about as easy as IAH, and then after a month or two you're back home living it up in Phoenix.
