Are you an upgrade or a new hire? (Sorry I stopped paying attention to who's who on here a while ago)

If you're an upgrade you're more than welcome to jumpseat home on weekends or anytime you want to leave when you have a break.

If you are a newhire they'll positive space you to any mesa domicile if you have time off,(not weekends but large chunks of days) you can then use your flight benefits (non revving) to get home from there.

However - back when I was a newhire in the Spring of 2013 and all the new hires who were in my recent upgrade class (it was combined FOs and CAs) were in CASS by week two or three. Meaning they now could also Jumpseat to and from training during breaks.

Lots of sweat off your back knowing if the flight is full, you can still ride up front. Only possible issue is until you pass your checkride your Mesa ID lacks the word "Crew." However you are still CASS approved.

I did the JFK-PHX, EWR-PHX a bunch when i was a new hire FO and had to sit up front. No one ever noticied my badge missed "crew." Important part is since in cass your will get the official "Cockpit Access Approved" boarding card.

Careful only nonrevving on short breaks, we did have a guy fired for that when I was a newhire - however he missed two seperate mondays of class If i remember correctly - as flights were full and he couldn't get on as a non rev to make it back to PHX.
