I had to make the same decision less than a year ago. I chose Mesa and don't regret it. I got Phx after a month and a half out of training. right now Phoenix is supposedly shrinking by about half with focus on DFW growth as our lax flying goes away...at least that's the rumor. I'll never hold Phx as a captain, so I plan on living in base as an FO for a while. I have a friend that finally got to Phx at SKW after a year and he will be on reserve for a while. Tough call...I think SKW's days are limited at PHX. Mesa's movement is a lot faster, but that could change in 6 months after all the new planes are staffed and movement slows. QOL at SKW seems to be on the downturn and reserves get bent over quite a bit. They have tons of 50 seaters = parking planes over the next 5 years. We won't be doing that anytime soon. QOL at Mesa isn't bad at all. The company doesn't screw with us. Only thing that sucks is pay, but it's not much worse than anywhere else, and in your case, like mine, it wasn't really a factor in my decision.
