I'll never hold Phx as a captain, so I plan on living in base as an FO for a while. I have a friend that finally got to Phx at SKW after a year and he will be on reserve for a while. Tough call...I think SKW's days are limited at PHX. Mesa's movement is a lot faster, but that could change in 6 months after all the new planes are staffed and movement slows. QOL at SKW seems to be on the downturn and reserves get bent over quite a bit. They have tons of 50 seaters = parking planes over the next 5 years. We won't be doing that anytime soon. QOL at Mesa isn't bad at all. The company doesn't screw with us. Only thing that sucks is pay, but it's not much worse than anywhere else, and in your case, like mine, it wasn't really a factor in my decision.
Well said, the 50 seaters are a big factor or at least for me it was. Those will be going bye bye fairly soon, just depends on the fuel prices i'm sure. Case in point Envoy, I am happy with my decision on Mesa for the job security it poses because of the no 50 seaters that will be gone. Pay is indeed less but I think management believes they can get away with it right now due to the fast upgrades and the other points stated above.
