Mesa flight was delayed in Montreal this morning by five hours because (they're saying) one pilot's medical expired March 31 and he wasn't legal to work the return flight this morning. They had to deadhead someone in to work the flight for him. Sucks for all involved but just curious how that happens and first responsibility is the crew member of course but the company doesn't have an alerting system on crew member certificate dates?
That is hilarious. And uhh yeah they have crewquals which emails you a month before and reminds you, then AGAIN a week or so before. Totally the pilots fault ... I mean come on man... You should know these things and when in doubt ask.
