Definitely BS. Recruiting will promise you any base you want to get you to show up to class.
Crew Planning, a completely different department, will tell you the bases actually available once you are in class.
PIT is the base most likely for new hires, but you can generally transfer within a few months.

When Envoy gets their 170's I don't see Republic having the Miami base for long. Be very careful with RAH they close bases just as fast as they open them.
As mentioned by previous poster and covered in another topic- Envoy's 170s are going to DFW.
