And it might be better to use "Award" over "Avoid" since the latter completely eliminates certain trips for you, which is an easy way to get stuck on reserve by accident as it might be impossible to reach the 76 hour requirement. The "Award Pairings" function basically says "give me this if you can," and if it can't it goes to the next thing.

So say for example you're an early bird and just want the earliest possible starts. You could do...

1.) Award Pairings If Enroute Check-In Time < 7:00 If Pairing Check-In Time < 7:00
2.) Award Pairings If Enroute Check-In Time < 8:00 If Pairing Check-In Time < 8:00
3.) Award Pairings If Enroute Check-In Time < 7:00
4.) Award Pairings If Enroute Check-In Time < 8:00

Or some variation like that. The general idea is to start with what you specifically want, then move on to more expanded parameters. You could make your bid really elaborate and add each successive hour later, or if you don't care much you could just use this method to say "start before noon" and call it a day.

Adding things like specific overnights will complicate it though. Remember that what comes first is what it first tries to award you.

And at the end of the day, there's always SAP.
