Guys,
For those of us who have been in the industry for more than 5 years think back to 5 years ago. This is akin to the industry running around screaming the sky is falling". Well it is, take the time it takes to go from student pilot to the right seat of a RJ. Compare that to the average notice give to quit. Lets be real, anyone who wanted to be an airline pilot is already in the chain, for all the guys out there who say "I'd be there if the money was better" lets be real, almost no one comes into this industry for the money. Is a lifestyle job, you either like/tolerate it or you don't and quit. If there was ever a time, with a better future in this industry its now, so either the "I'd be there" guys cannot either read the forums and/or recruiting propaganda means they cant/don't really want to be here. With regionals offering 80K retention bonuses, the new reason they won't be here is they can't do reserve, it will always be something. Reality check, this job isn't for everyone, and for the most part anyone who wants to be here, is. Industry take note, you have spent the last 50 years making this job miserable, congratulations, its the only thing you have achieved. Now you are reaping the fruits of your efforts.
