Default Union Hiring Webinars

Excerpted from a blastmail today.

As mentioned in an earlier MEC Update, the United MEC plans to host a number of “Hiring Webinars” for Veterans and for Friends and Family of United pilots this summer to give up-to-date hiring information to these targeted groups. While participation in these events won’t guarantee an interview, we feel that it will be quite helpful to those who do attend as they navigate through the application process.

The United MEC Friends and Family Webinars will be for those that want to leave another civilian job for employment at United Airlines. Every United Pilot will be able to sponsor one person to participate in these webinars* (the sponsoring pilot DOES NOT have to be on the webinar with the person they sponsor). Since these are geared toward civilian pilots and since June bidding is about to open at many airlines where they work, we wanted to get the dates and times out now so they may plan accordingly. Here are the dates and times we have planned:

Wednesday June 24
2 p.m. Central Time

Thursday June 25
9 a.m. Central Time
1 p.m. Central Time

Friday June 26
9 a.m. Central Time

We can’t guarantee we will be able to accommodate everyone, or the time slot requested, but we are certainly going to try! The Friends and Family Webinars will be online and interactive to allow plenty of opportunities for participants to have their questions answered. There will be no charge for the webinars.

The United MEC Military Webinars are planned for July 13th, 14th and 15th. We are still working on the times but don’t hesitate to start telling your military colleagues to circle these dates.

The Military Webinar will focus on helping current and former military pilots who are seeking to make the transition from our Armed Services to a United flight deck. During this Webinar, our Military Affairs Committee will be talking extensively about this transition while others will explain some application tips. No sponsorship will be needed, but once again, we can’t guarantee we will be able to accommodate everyone.

*Pilots who have more than one son or daughter qualified for United Airlines can sponsor all qualified candidates.
