Do you think United will award a new long term contract to a regional it thinks is unable to staff the flying? It's not complicated. Wait for some new great news for Mesa.
Please try to respond logically this time instead of emotionally. I understand it's not fun to hear you probably chose the wrong regional. I know this because I'm at the same one. Also, if he is truly your friend in HR, what are you still doing at Mesa?
The world has changed, your buddies can't walk your resume in anymore until you get past the infamous computer firewall. I know of at least one Mesa captain who's wife is a pilot at US Airways, and there is nothing she can do to help.
I'd be willing to bet that most other regionals have pilots actively looking to move on who have been at their current job for at least five years. Most CA's at Mesa who never downgraded and are still here are lifers, and those wishing to move on are only NOW starting the process. The younger CA's who were downgraded then upgraded again who desperately want to move on lack a four year degree. The majority of newer people at Mesa who want to get in, get their time, and move on do not have five years at Mesa. Recruiters at majors want to see a four year degree, and a decent amount of time at your current employer. Other regionals are filled with people who meet that criteria.
Also, chances are, if you act like a dick on this forum, you more than likely act the same way offline, and you better believe that your former co-workers who move on, will tell others to not hire you. It's a small industry.
Reading the responses on this forum really scares me about who is sitting next to me in the cockpit, and to a larger extent, the younger generations IQ levels.
