We are basically hiring into all bases (MSP and DTW on the CRJ-200 and LGA and JFK mostly on the 900. DTW 900 is going very junior also...could be available within a few months at most if not right away. MSP 900 is more senior though but for perspective was recently awarded to a April 2014 new hire. Ground school is done in MSP. Sims are usually in MSP but at times can be in other places. About the SSP vs off the street, we have had several FO's and captains get hired outside of the SSP.
Thank you for the information. Does the retention bonus start the day you are hired or at another point, like after training is complete?
I am little worried about being on reserve for an extended period of time. I live in Florida and would like to commute. I know that commuting sucks, but it would mean the best situation for my family.
