I commuted the last time I was at a regional and it sucked. Can y'all give me an idea about reserve and upgrade times in the DFW base? Is it likely that I'll hold it out of training? I have 2500 121.
Reserve in Dallas will be extremely quick - it's expanding like crazy and you'd probably have a line within 3 months, based on what others have been experiencing lately. Maybe someone based there could expand on that. Yes, you'd definitely be able to hold it out of training. Just be sure you're put in a CRJ class and not an ERJ class; ERJ's are exclusively IAH.
Our quickest upgrade was around 8 months for someone who had previous 121 time. I don't know if it'll get that low again, but certainly any future awarded flying (or lack thereof) will affect this. I'd imagine you're looking at 12-24 months. But nothing is certain in this industry.
