Commuting on American to and from DFW can be stressful sometimes, however, with that said, there are many options to get where you need to go. There is always Fed Ex, and I love using Spirit as much as I can. Going to DFW, I will gladly go on South West into Love field. The train and bus to DFW from Love is easy and costs 2.50 or less. Just give yourself 1.5 hours.
Never go to an AA gate agent without listing yourself first on MyIdTravel, and if you do, ask them where the nearest customer service desk is. When they hear that, they are much more likely to help you.

Please make sure you always say hi to the Captain on American, and ask his permission to jump a ride. We are listed as a D6, and on the American system, that is a Jump Seat, not a seat listing like you are used to on the Airways and United systems.
