Not listening, almost none of the PS passengers will go to EWR to fly, so any argument about increased service to the customers is a non starter. These people are the original jet-setters and do what they want and pay exorbitant prices to get what they want. Spoiled and high maintenance, yes.
There is no comparison mainline service to PS, so unless you have experienced it, it's hard to talk to you about it.
You're spot on with your assessment of the PS service. The downfall was poor implementation of mechanicals(seats,WiFi and DVD players instead of streaming or TV). This was Gleen's doing when he replaced the 767-200 with the 757. JFK Flight Attendants did a great job delivering a quality service despite the implementation problems. Jeff hammered the final nail when he oversaw the replacement of Luxury 3 class airplanes to a 2 class airplane. Long time high-yield pax left in droves and we were left giving the "Business Seats" away to free upgrades or selling the seats for a last minute 50 or 100 dollar upgrade fee.
