From a bottom bankrupted airline that gave jobs to anyone that applied from 2005-2008 so we could be easily integrated into scab culture. But you already knew that Staller.

If you want me to be your Staller have at it. I did a little thread reading and you seem to be all over charts of truth and trust worthiness. That is "Absolutely scary" for any United pilot.

Waaaay, way, way back in the day, UAL operated it's own pilot school in Tracy, CA.
The "Ace" part was sarcasm from "experienced" (cough) pilots of the period but the "Aces" almost universally retired as wide body Captains.

In short, UAL had their own school out in Tracy CA. If I remember, DC-3's, Convairs, 247's. No I'm not that old. My dad was UAL too, but not an Ace. Did not speak well of them.
They would pay you to get a private, multi, instrument, and then give you a job. That was a pilot shortage.

Most airlines around the world do training like that now. The standard for a new hire FO at most airlines worldwide is 250 hours. The next most common is the Multi Crew Pilot license where they have half of that. I did a sim with another Captain that started with the MCPL. He was absolutely outstanding.
The better cadet programs like BA, Luftansa, and the Japanese airlines turn out a pretty decent product. It is very competitive to get in, and very demanding.
The Tracey's Aces? Maybe not so much. FAA training was not designed to build a 250 hour 737 FO. It was designed to build a flight instructor or charter pilot.
And once again,
Hi Staller, we missed you.
