There were almost no connections anywhere out of JFK, the entire plane's load's destination was JFK. What's more, we will lose is the PS passenger that connected to the pacific and further out of SFO and LAX.

We made huge amounts of money there and now just giving it away...again.
#1. Just because the planes you flew were full, it was not an indication of demand; just a cheep ticket.
#2. Every f...ing airline that flies SFO-JFK-LAX-JFK, has a similar service below the breakeven point to compete for the same flip-flops and shorts. Low airfares; hence huge demand for service.
#3. If you want to fly to Pacific and Asia from EWR/New York area, we do have a direct flights and don't have to connect in SFO, or LAX. Have you heard about airplanes that fly nonstop for 16 hours; and don't have to land in Kansas City or Denver to refuel.
#4. As every pilot in this company, you know how to run this airline, then why are you still a line pilot?

I don't care how they doing it, as long as we make money, stay profitable, lower competition and monopolize city pairing. Why fly out of JFK with the most expensive fees, slots, and the busiest airspace, if we have a hub just few miles away, that we rule and occupy in 80% with much lower operating cost?
No competition for slots with DAL, AA, VA, and JetBlue, which BTW delivers much more superior service on new A321, than UAL B757PS with planes from 80S.

Uhhh...ok, it's obvious you have never flown PS and have never ridden on one of the PS planes. Cheap tickets, these were not.

Not listening, almost none of the PS passengers will go to EWR to fly, so any argument about increased service to the customers is a non starter. These people are the original jet-setters and do what they want and pay exorbitant prices to get what they want. Spoiled and high maintenance, yes.

There is no comparison mainline service to PS, so unless you have experienced it, it's hard to talk to you about it.

No comparison at all. Mainline has been profitable for years, PS has been unprofitable for 7 years, according to the company.

I don't think any other comparison needs to be made.

Is it a safe bet that this won't affect 756 staffing at EWR? I'm assuming these crews just commuted over to JFK to pick up their flights, and now they'll just originate from Newark?

Did you miss the part that we are swapping slots with them? Could be argued they are running from us in EWR...

Delta running from United? Ever notice the Delta widebodies at EWR? Ever seen all the Delta metal at our hubs compared to what we put into ATL, DTW, MSP? It's simply laughable.

Did you purposely leave out ATL,LGA and JFK? As far as DTW/MSP, Northwest served these markets for years and are/were big markets for International travel and cargo.

I left them out because the amount of O & D traffic at ATL/DTW/MSP is a joke compared to ORD/NYC/SFO. Delta has a hub in LGA and so does AA, there is no reason to have a major presence there for us except to supply some key markets. You really think it would make sense for us to put widebodies in ATL/DTW/MSP? Please. And btw Delta and AA have both pulled out of SFO so much that neither serves 1 non hub city anymore, not 1.

JetBlue Adds Additional Mint Coast-to-Coast Service From JFK

NEW YORK, NY, Jun 18, 2015 (Marketwired via COMTEX) -- JetBlue , New York's Hometown Airline(TM), today announced that it will add additional flights of its acclaimed Mint experience from New York's John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and San Francisco International Airport (SFO). The schedule expansion offers customers looking for new options to travel between JFK and the West Coast with an affordable premium experience that is above and beyond the traditional standard that customers have come to expect from other airlines.
Beginning October 25, JetBlue will offer up to six daily Mint flights between New York and San Francisco. JetBlue will also add additional service between New York and Los Angeles beginning October 25, with up to 10 daily flights by February when the airline takes delivery of its newest A321 Mint aircraft.
Since launching Mint in June 2014, JetBlue has again disrupted the air travel status quo with a refreshing take on the premium experience that features a thoughtful product offering and exceptional service from specially trained JetBlue crewmembers.
