A few months ago the IPA put a synopsis of the current company positions regarding the various contract items. The IPA states that the company offered a 3% raise and an increase of 1000% in out of pocket medical insurance deductions. They also reported that UPS had offered a 25% raise for probationary pay and that would have made it around 34k. That was their opening position.
As far as raising it to attract the best applicants!!?? LMAO. Have you not interacted with the new hires or read their backgrounds? We are getting the best applicants. I turned down SWA to stay and I know others that have as well. Just because a few have left for FedEx does not mean it is a more attractive job. Many of us know why UPS is a much better place to get hired than FedEx or SWA.
